Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership in Cost Engineering:
    • Act as the Process Owner for Cost Engineering in relation to field issues.
    • Aggregate and synthesize cost data from various departments globally concerning field initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Plant Quality, After-Sales, Regional After Sales Teams, and Purchasing to ensure precise cost information.
    • Identify and leverage opportunities for cost recovery associated with supplier and ESP challenges.
    • Guide teams in gathering and documenting cost-related evidence.
    • Deliver financial analysis and insights aimed at enhancing cost efficiency.
    • Coordinate chargebacks from suppliers and ESPs in conjunction with Purchasing and Finance.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Define and enhance strategies, processes, and IT systems for streamlined cost collection, including evidence gathering across cross-functional teams.
    • Collect, analyze, and report on cost data to facilitate effective cost management.
    • Monitor expenditures linked to field actions and recalls against established budgets.
    • Develop and implement cost control methodologies and best practices.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and quality regulations.
  • Committee Participation and Decision Making:
    • Engage in meetings and committees that focus on field actions and recalls.
    • Promote cross-functional communication and collaboration.
    • Facilitate the execution of cost control measures and financial strategies.
  • Business Impact:
    • Establish effective processes and documentation to support negotiations with suppliers regarding cost recovery.
    • Achieve high acceptance rates for supplier chargebacks in collaboration with purchasing teams.
    • Timely escalate issues to enable swift decision-making and reduce the lead time for cost recovery.
Candidate Profile:
  • Degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in Quality Management within the Automotive Industry, particularly in field quality.
  • 5-7 years of expertise in cost management and recovery processes, including negotiations with third parties.
  • Strong knowledge of field actions, recalls, and related cost management practices.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective collaboration skills in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High empathy, excellent communication, motivational skills, and adaptability to diverse situations.
  • Fluent in English.
