Division Lead for Additive Manufacturing Innovation and Application

Job Opportunity: Division Lead for Additive Manufacturing Innovation and Application

The Technical University of Munich is seeking a highly motivated researcher to lead our additive manufacturing innovation and application efforts. As a Division Lead, you will be responsible for building an institutional alliance between TUM and industry partners, driving research in additive manufacturing innovation and application, and fostering collaborations with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt additive manufacturing technologies for industry-specific applications
  • Lead prototyping and demonstrator projects
  • Ensure knowledge dissemination through documentation and publications
  • Solicit third-party funds in cooperation with ministries, industry, and EU/national funding associations
  • Lectures and courses in the field of additive manufacturing
  • Communication with industry networks, academic partners, and politics

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Material Science, Physics, or comparable fields
  • Proven background in metal additive manufacturing processes is mandatory
  • Several years of professional experience in industry is strongly recommended
  • Previous post-doctoral experience is favorable
  • Determination and independent working style as well as teamwork and communication skills
  • German and English language skills
