Head of Financial Accounting (m/f/d) Location: Bamberg The Mediengruppe Oberfranken is a prominent media organization providing a diverse array of services tailored for both corporate and individual clients, encompassing over 50 distinct brands. Our offerings include digital solutions, entertainment, entrepreneurial guidance, marketing services, specialized media, and logistics. With a workforce of nearly 2400 across 20 locations, we pride ourselves on being a traditional yet innovative media enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee external financial reporting, including management of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with HGB for the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Manage tax-related matters, ensuring adherence to VAT regulations, coordinating tax audits, and overseeing all necessary tax filings and declarations.
  • Streamline daily operations and enhance accounting processes and tools.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering both professional and personal development.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for auditors, tax consultants, and financial regulatory bodies.
  • Report directly to the executive management team.
  • Provide expert financial guidance and support to senior executives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent commercial training, with additional certification as a professional accountant.
  • Significant experience in a comparable position or within an auditing firm.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of HGB accounting principles and a solid grasp of tax legislation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP FI.
  • Analytical mindset with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Dependable and assertive character.
  • Strong communication skills across all management levels, coupled with a confident presence.
