Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The Corporate Legal Advisor will support the Head of Legal for EMEA & APAC in providing legal assistance to both internal teams and external partners regarding various legal issues. This position is pivotal in delivering sound legal guidance and support to the organization, collaborating closely with colleagues in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of local commercial legislation.
  • Evaluate and negotiate IT/SaaS commercial agreements and service level contracts, including vendor agreements.
  • Conduct research on legal matters and offer general legal insights as needed.
  • Aid in the creation of legal templates and establish best practices.
  • Interact with legal representatives from our vendors and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to the terms of agreements in line with company policies and guidelines.

Required Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and negotiation capabilities.
  • Drafting contract documentation; advising sales teams on contractual rights and obligations while minimizing risks associated with contracts and channel partner programs; compiling and analyzing relevant data; maintaining historical records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to engage with cross-functional teams and clients effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance the competing priorities of various stakeholders against business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Juris Doctor degree with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience, particularly in IT law, Privacy Law, and general contract law.
  • Licensed to practice law with admission to the Local Bar.
  • Proficient in contract negotiations, including the development, assessment, and negotiation of service agreements, terms and conditions, NDAs, and commercial documents.
  • Understanding of global legal issues impacting software companies, including data privacy, Cloud and SaaS, AI, and intellectual property protection.
  • Familiarity with HR/Employment law is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in German and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Experience in both private practice and in-house legal roles within a technology firm.
  • Competent in using Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
