We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our motor pool operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct the work of employees engaged in vehicle dispatching, vehicle operating, operator maintenance and servicing, and clerical functions related to motor pool operations.
- Plan and assign work, considering priorities, types of assignments, and capabilities of employees.
- Provide guidance and advice on work and administrative matters.
- Resolve work problems presented by subordinates with assistance from the Transportation Officer.
- Prepare performance plans and appraise the performance of subordinates.
- Receive and resolve complaints from employees; refer group grievances and more serious unresolved grievances to supervisor.
- Recommend personnel actions, including selection of applicants, re-description of duties, and disciplinary action.
- Identify developmental and training needs of employees, and provide or arrange for training or development.
- Must have 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below, PLUS 3 years of experience as defined in B below.
- Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work on-call duty.
