**Duties**:

- As an Engineer and Project Manager, plans, completes and performs complex project assignments in the area of architecture, engineering, design for rehabilitation, major repair, alteration, specification, and construction engineering disciplines.
- Develops comprehensive plans for future development and proposed construction within the community in accordance with established policy and guidance from the Director of Public Works and in conformance with the Garrison's Annual Work Plan.
- Manages engineering and construction contracts, including meetings, tracking budgets, invoicing using US Army financial management system and schedules.
- Develops and prepares cost estimates of materials and man-hours to be used in execution of projects from construction specification statements of functional requirements related to function of projects and plans services.
- Serves as an Engineering Division Point of Contact (POC) for site planning and consultant for site development of military construction projects.
- Reviews work of other architects, engineers, United States Corps of Engineers, and contracted architect-engineering firms to ensure compliance with building/life safety codes, Army regulations, established specifications and Host Nation requirements.
- Devise and recommends cost cutting expedience by selecting from alternative materials and construction means and methods.
- Considers requirements concerning Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and host nation (German, Bavarian, etc.) construction and environmental regulations.
- Act as a principal contributor on team-based projects or coordinate a team project and provide technical oversight and direction.

- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position requires a valid, state-issued and USAREUR Driver's License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command's structure.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver's license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP) vehicles such as a sedan or small passenger van.

- **Basic Requirements for (Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and Electrical Engineer)**:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

1. Professional registration or licensure - Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.
- 2. Written Test - Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination, or any other written test required for professional registration, by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
