GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung operates one of the leading particle accelerators for scientific research. The new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) project is currently under development, representing one of the largest international research initiatives.

Position Overview
The "Superconducting Magnets & Testing" (SCM) department is seeking a qualified individual to join the "Superconducting Magnet Technology" (SCM-SMT) group as a Physicist or Engineer (all genders).

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the design and production phases of superconducting magnets.
• Managing factory acceptance tests and coordinating expert reviews.
• Approving factory acceptance tests and ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Coordinating the logistics for the transport of magnet components.
• Facilitating the assembly of magnets and associated systems.
• Overseeing site acceptance tests and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
• Maintaining communication with manufacturers, transport companies, and relevant departments.
• Handling administrative tasks in collaboration with GSI administration.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Master's degree in physics or engineering (mechanical, cryogenic, electrical, or electronics) or a comparable qualification.
• Experience with superconducting magnets and related systems, particularly in operational and measurement techniques.
• A structured approach to work, demonstrating proactivity and responsibility.
• Strong teamwork skills, autonomy, and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Fluency in English; basic knowledge of German is advantageous.
• Experience in coordinating production and testing activities.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
