Lead Consultant for Apache Kafka Solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Lead Consultant for Apache Kafka and Distributed Data Systems, you will oversee the design, architecture, administration, and deployment of tailored and sophisticated event streaming platforms utilizing Apache Kafka, adhering to current industry standards and leveraging the latest tools and methodologies.
  • You will maintain close collaboration with clients, managing the preparation, planning, migration, oversight, monitoring, and execution of highly scalable Apache Kafka event streaming platforms or Distributed Data Systems projects, while providing comprehensive consulting on the state of these technologies.
  • Your role as a Senior Consultant in Big Data Management and Stream Processing will involve spearheading the design and implementation of architectures for streaming platforms and stream processing use cases, employing both open-source and cloud-based tools.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent training in a technical field.
  • Proven expertise and knowledge in Java.
  • Extensive experience with Apache Kafka or comparable large-scale enterprise distributed data systems, utilizing various distributed technologies such as Apache Kafka, Spark, CockroachDB, HDFS, Hive, etc.
  • Experience in software development and automation for operating big data systems.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing complex solutions for Big Data and Data Analytics applications.
  • Familiarity with system deployment and container technology, including building, managing, deploying, and overseeing Docker containers and images using Docker, OpenShift, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience in crafting resilient, scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of various distributed technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, CockroachDB, HDFS, Hive, etc.).
  • Experience with stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka Streams, Spark Streaming, Flink, Storm).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Automake, Make, Grunt, Rake, Ant, GIT, Subversion, Artifactory, and Nexus.
  • Understanding of SDLC processes (Agile, DevOps), Cloud Operations, and Support (ITIL) Service Delivery.
  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms including OAuth, as well as familiarity with Vert.x and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with SQL Azure and AWS development.
  • Expertise in DevOps transformation and cloud migration to platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Hybrid/Private Cloud, along with cloud-native end-to-end solutions, especially their key components, workload types, migration patterns, and tools.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and logging systems such as NewRelic, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, and Graylog.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in a manner that is accessible to business stakeholders.
  • Interest in modern organizational structures and an agile working environment, particularly SCRUM.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for working in an international setting, proficient in both German and English.
