Job Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Sustainability Risk Management to join our team. As a key member of our Risk platform, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability risk management strategy that aligns with our company's goals and values
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize sustainability risks across the organization, including climate change, resource scarcity, social impact, regulatory changes, and more
  • Collaborate with various risk leads and cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability risk considerations into risk management types, business operations, supply chain management, product development, and investment decisions
  • Conduct regular sustainability risk assessments, evaluating potential impacts on financial performance, reputation, and long-term viability
  • Stay current on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively address evolving risks and opportunities
  • Lead the design and implementation of effective risk mitigation measures, controls, and monitoring mechanisms
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employees' understanding of sustainability risks and their role in managing them
  • Manage and coach a team of sustainability risk resources
  • Produce regular reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key sustainability risk insights and recommendations
  • Engage with external partners, industry associations, and experts to stay informed about sustainability risk developments and share knowledge
  • Collaborate with communications teams to ensure transparent and effective communication of our sustainability risk management efforts to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in risk management, sustainability risk, ESG, or related roles across the financial services sector
  • Strong understanding of sustainability trends, regulations, and industry best practices and developing these into risk policy and appetite statements and risk frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess complex sustainability risks
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk management strategies
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data and execute against tight deadlines
  • German language a strong plus; excellent writing and communication skills
  • Educated to degree level in a financial related discipline or with relevant professional experience
