About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our European Train Control System (ETCS) Wayside Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the technical project management of ETCS trackside equipment in international projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project-specific requirements and check them for technical feasibility.
  • Prepare initial technical planning documents for ETCS trackside equipment, including configuration of balises, lineside electronic units, and radio block centers.
  • Collaborate with interfaces to other subsystems and engineering tools to ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Support the creation of software for the ETCS track system in close cooperation with our Engineering Center abroad.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for the further development and optimization of our products, components, implementation processes, and software tools for the ETCS system.
Requirements
  • University degree in an engineering discipline, ideally with a focus on transportation or rail automation.
  • Practical experience in railroad safety technology.
  • Specialist knowledge of transportation or rail automation, standards, or engineering processes.
  • Good technical understanding and systematic thinking.
  • Excellent command of English and German languages.
  • Will to travel occasionally (approximately 20%).
