Join Our Team as an Additive Manufacturing Data Preparation Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Additive Manufacturing Data Preparation Expert to join our team at Nikon SLM Solutions. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced data preparation tools to support material parameter and process development engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and utilize advanced data preparation tools to support material parameter and process development engineers
  • Define and develop software requirements for hatching and scanning parameters to maximize the potential of Nikon SLM next-generation machines
  • Collaborate with Nikon SLM Solutions' software partners, engineers, and scientists in an international environment to enhance software products for our customers
  • Provide support for internal and external customers in early benchmarking of new materials and data preparation products
  • Innovate and refine custom toolpath strategies to significantly improve material performance using Nikon SLM next-generation machines
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze experiments using Nikon SLM next-generation machines, employing statistical tools for data analysis
  • Prepare comprehensive reports of experimental results for internal use and create external white papers and conference presentations
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to address customer needs related to data preparation and material parameter development
  • Define future requirements for next-generation LPBF machine products within Nikon SLM Solutions with a focus on data preparation, scanning strategies, and tool pathing
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree or Equivalent Certification in Engineering Field or Materials Science (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Software) with a focus on LPBF
  • 4+ years of professional experience in the field of data preparation for additive manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of hatching and scanning parameters for material development in additive manufacturing
  • Familiarity with programming
  • Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Broad experience in material parameter development and testing during the qualification process, for benchmark part production, and machine acceptance tests
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in an international environment
