Cleaning Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Cleaning Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a specified area orderly and clean following general instructions regarding the tasks to be performed.
  • Set up own schedule and sequence of tasks within the framework of a general schedule, which states the required frequency of each task.
  • Vacuum clean rugs and drapes.
  • Sweep, mop, strip, scrub, wax, and polish floors, using heavy industrial powered equipment.
  • Adjust, oil, change buffers, brushes, rollers, and other attachments on these machines.
  • Wash and replace venetian blinds, ceiling fixtures, and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds.
  • Remove stains from a variety of surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, floors, and fixtures by use of chemicals and cleaning solutions.
  • Move heavy furniture.
  • Wash and clean windows inside and outside of buildings using ladders, scaffolds, and safety belts.
  • Use brushes, buckets, squeegees, chamois, cleaning cloths, and cleaning solutions.
  • Inspect and keep safety belts in good condition.
  • In warehouses and shops maintain an assigned area clean and orderly.
  • Sweep and mop floor.
  • Remove oil, hydraulic fluid, and other spilled liquids.
  • Dispose of boxes, crates, parts, and clean up the area.
  • Pick up scraps of wood, metal, or other materials.
  • Remove scrap and trashcans from area to central pick up point.
Requirements:
  • No specific experience or education required.
  • Applicant must be able to perform the duties under guidance after a short period of on-the-job instructions.
  • English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level B1 required.
Working Conditions:

Working on weekends, holidays, and shift work (daytime shift) required.
