Finance Operations Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Operations Manager (m/f/d) to oversee the daily bookkeeping activities and generate quarterly and annual financial reports for our portfolio company. In this position, you will ensure the accuracy of financial statements and collaborate with various departmental stakeholders.
Our portfolio company is a pioneering German startup that is transforming the procurement process in the construction sector. With a diverse and international team of seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts, the company is well-funded and backed by leading European venture capitalists and construction technology specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, along with internal reporting in compliance with HGB and IFRS standards.
- Develop balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements from the ground up in accordance with IFRS.
- Work closely with internal departments to address tax and financial accounting matters and projects.
- Process remittances and manage payments efficiently.
- Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks and ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Issue invoices to clients and manage accounts receivable effectively.
- Coordinate with our external accounting firm for compliance and reporting.
- Support financial initiatives to assist management in an international context.
Your Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field, preferably in a startup environment.
- Proficient knowledge of IFRS and HGB, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in both English and German.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving, combined with a proactive mindset.
- Familiarity with financial, accounting, and business systems software, particularly DATEV and DUO; experience with expense management solutions is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
