Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced German Language Instructor to join our team at English Path. As a DaF/DaZ Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive German language lessons to students of various levels. Your primary goal will be to help students enhance their language skills and foster a positive and motivating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lesson Planning and Delivery
Plan and deliver effective, engaging, and enjoyable language lessons that cater to a variety of levels (A1-C1). Use diverse teaching methods and materials to engage students in learning.
Assessment and EvaluationAssess student work in line with the course objectives to ensure all learning outcomes are met. Conduct regular student evaluation, progress meetings, and tutorials.
Curriculum DevelopmentDevelop, update, and enhance course materials. Assist in the initial setup of the school, contributing to the development and adaptation of curriculum tailored to student needs.
Safeguarding and WelfarePromote safeguarding and work with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, ensuring their wellbeing. Manage classroom behaviour effectively with the support of the academic management team.
Requirements- Qualifications
University Degree in German Studies, Linguistics, or a related field; DaF/DaZ certification essential.
Language ProficiencyNative or near-native proficiency level in German (C2 level). Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
Teaching ExperienceExperience teaching German as a foreign or second language, preferably in a classroom setting. Strong organisational and material development skills, with experience in curriculum development.
Cultural CompetenceUnderstanding of German culture and intercultural competence. The right to work and live in Germany.
Desirable Skills and Experience- Classroom Technology
Familiarity with classroom technology and digital teaching resources.
