Unit Overview The Business Technology Operations (BTO) unit is focused on enhancing supply security, driving the energy transition, and ensuring organizational and financial health through digital innovation, data utilization, and analytics. BTO is dedicated to establishing robust foundations through seamless user experiences, top-tier cybersecurity measures, and resilient data centers and cloud infrastructures. We prioritize alignment between business and technology, foster strategic vendor partnerships, and maintain clear standards in architecture, vendor management, and security. BTO aims to unlock the value of data and digital capabilities by creating essential enablers and integrating innovative initiatives into business strategies.
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer (m/w/d) to enhance our Digital & Data team. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the technical infrastructure that underpins the TenneT Data Cloud Platform (PaaS). Your contributions will support product teams by automating infrastructure, thereby enhancing their operational efficiency and allowing developers to concentrate on application development rather than infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Develop tools and scripts to streamline platform operations.
- Integrate monitoring and alerting systems to oversee platform health and performance.
- Optimize the performance and efficiency of the platform.
- Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for platform deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Maintain the containerized document control application deployed via Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Computer Science or equivalent academic qualifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, including Virtual Machines and Data Lake Service.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, is essential for automating cloud resource management.
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, is crucial for managing containerized applications.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and scripting in Bash or PowerShell is advantageous.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD methodologies and tools like Azure Pipelines or GitHub, is necessary for optimizing development workflows.
- Excellent communication skills in German (both written and verbal) are required; proficiency in English is a plus.
