Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Protection Specialist to join our team in Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of data protection and privacy requirements across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement NIO Europe's data protection management system (DPMS) in close collaboration with the Head of Privacy Europe.
  • Support the development of privacy concepts and assist business units in creating tools and methodologies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and conduct privacy training programs to enhance employee understanding of NIO's privacy policies, data handling practices, and procedures, as well as legal obligations.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments and ensure the timely implementation of privacy risk mitigating measures.
  • Participate in the implementation and ongoing compliance monitoring of all trading partner and business associate agreements, ensuring all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed.
  • Regularly report on the identification of data protection risks and the implementation of data protection measures to the Head of Privacy Europe.
  • Investigate and document data protection incidents.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified German lawyer or equivalent educational background.
  • ~5+ years of work experience in a law firm or global company, with specialized professional experience in advising and implementing data protection and privacy requirements.
  • ~ Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
  • Material knowledge of data protection, privacy, and data-related regulations in Europe.
  • Ability to manage and complete projects from beginning to end.
  • Good understanding of data flows, databases, and IT services in general.
  • Fluent in English and German.
