Sustainable Biomass Development Manager for the UK Market

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate domestic biomass sourcing and trading opportunities for Uniper's clientele and projects within the UK.
  • Establish and implement domestic sourcing and trading collaborations in the UK.
  • Develop and sustain a robust domestic network of biomass suppliers, consumers, logistics partners, and service providers.
  • Offer strategic, analytical, and commercial insights to Uniper's extensive biomass initiatives.
  • Oversee UK-specific sustainability mandates and advancements in close collaboration with relevant departments across Uniper.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive annual biomass business development strategy for the UK, aligning with Uniper's overall biomass vision.
  • Generate detailed reports on market trends, partnership opportunities, pricing forecasts, and associated risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams in the UK to facilitate discussions with government entities, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent Uniper at national and international biomass forums and industry events.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in sourcing and trading biomass feedstock within the UK.
  • Exceptional skills in commercial negotiation and relationship management.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to engage effectively with teams.
  • Familiarity with structured physical and financial commodity transactions, including standard and non-standard contract terms, counter-party credit requirements, and performance assurance.
  • Knowledge of master agreements, such as EFET, and common sustainability frameworks like FSC, SBP, GGL, and Sure.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a focus on long-term strategic objectives.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player at all organizational levels.
  • Relevant professional qualifications complemented by a broader business perspective.
