Master Project Specialist

Job Description

Uniper's maintenance department at Energy Asset Management (EAM) has established a central process for executing maintenance work on site, called PM/WCM (Plant Maintenance and Work Clearance Management). The EAM department has identified variations in the process execution across power stations, and Uniper is interested in identifying the deviations between sites on effective measures (KPI's), activities, and recommendations to improve conformance and prepare the process for the S4 Hana Transformation.

Recorded data from SAP can be used to apply existing process mining techniques for checking process conformance and comparing plants with each other. We are looking for a process mining master project on this maintenance process.

Responsibilities
  • See whether additional power plants fit the as-is process model and update the model where necessary
  • Analyze the differences between the different power plants and the as-is process model in more detail, using existing and new process comparison techniques
  • Upon analyzing the detailed variants in the process, identify a potential harmonized way of working the Maintenance orders to migrate into S4
Requirements
  • Experience in analyzing data with an academic approach and having an IT, Data Science, and Data Analytics background
  • Working with Process Mining tools such as ProM or Celonis
  • IT methodologies on how to analyze data and turn them into value and insight statements
  • Fundamentals of Business Process Management (BPMN)
  • Track record in Data Science and using Python, R, SQL, PQML, and similar
  • Experience in using further applications that support Business Process Intelligence or Advanced Process Mining
  • Preferably, experience in the BPM or PADS groups, e.g., at RWTH Aachen or similar
  • Working experience in the Energy Industry is not a requirement
  • A monthly visit to Uniper's headquarters in Düsseldorf or to one of Uniper's Power Plants should be foreseen
  • Starting date would be October 2024 or according to arrangement
  • The position is limited to 6 months (with an additional 3 months)
  • Uniper offers a fixed monthly compensation for this master project
