Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to take on a key role at Trust In SODA, a dynamic medical AI company in Germany. As a key member of our growing squad, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of 5 engineers and driving the development of state-of-the-art screening technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hands-on leadership of a cross-functional team of 5 engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Building robust, scalable AI services based on GCP cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and high-performance capabilities.
  • Championing best practices from an architectural and code-quality perspective, driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with other AI teams and advising on the strategic architectural direction of the code base, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder management, effectively communicating technical vision and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.
Requirements
  • German speaking at C-level, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Multiple years of experience in hands-on technical leadership, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Expertise in Python engineering - 5+ years, with a deep understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Proven track record of solutionising features from scratch, ideally with ownership of the architecture, and a strong ability to drive technical decisions.
  • Understanding of Asynchronous Programming and Event-Driven Architecture, with experience in cloud-native software engineering - ideally within the GCP stack.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes within a production environment, and experience with MLOps.
Bonus Points
  • Previous experience with building AI services, with a strong understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques.
  • Previous experience with Medical Imaging, with a deep understanding of image processing and analysis.
Selection Process
  • First Stage - Intro with HR, to discuss the role and expectations.
  • Second Stage - Technical Interview with CTO, to assess technical skills and experience.
  • Third Stage - Pair Programming with Technical Lead, to evaluate coding skills and collaboration.
  • Final Stage - Interview with Founder, to discuss vision and fit with the company.
Work Arrangements

Remote work is possible, but applicants must have C-level German. We cannot facilitate relocation for this role.
