Role OverviewThe IONITY Operations team is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer or Field Service Technician to deliver diagnostic and technical assistance during the maintenance of our High Power Charging Stations. This role involves traveling to various HPC sites within a designated area to conduct repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance on existing stations. Familiarity with these facilities is essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver technical support to reduce system downtime effectively.
- Conduct onsite root cause analysis, service, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Manage the ordering and logistics of spare parts for HPC stations.
- Diagnose systems and perform remote troubleshooting on field failures by analyzing logged data.
- Assist in the development of processes, documentation, and diagnostic knowledge for standard service operations.
- Identify trends and patterns in field failures and provide feedback to the central team for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure thorough investigation of new issues and implementation of countermeasures.
- Must possess professional certification as an electrician (low voltage up to 1000VAC/1500VDC); additional certifications in Environmental, Health, and Safety are advantageous.
- Approximately 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably with similar technical equipment.
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, and potentially for extended periods; a proactive approach to problem-solving is expected.
- Availability for off-hours calls and work is required.
- Technical degree in Electrics or a related field is necessary.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with external service providers.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and German; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Exceptional capability to handle multiple tasks and challenges simultaneously.
- Proficient in common workplace and database software (MS Office).
- Competence in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with basic electrical measuring devices (multimeter, isolation tester, RCD test device) is essential.
