Service Engineer for High Power Charging Stations

Your missionThe IONITY Operations team is seeking a Field Service Engineer or Field Service Technician to deliver diagnostic and technical assistance during the maintenance of our High Power Charging Stations. This role involves traveling to various HPC sites within a designated area to conduct upkeep, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing HPC Stations. Familiarity with these facilities is essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver technical assistance to reduce system downtime.
- Conduct onsite root cause analysis, service, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Manage the ordering and handling of spare parts for HPC stations.
- Diagnose systems and perform remote troubleshooting on field failures by analyzing logged data.
- Assist in developing processes, documentation, and diagnostic knowledge for standard service procedures.
- Identify trends and patterns in field failures and provide feedback to the central team to facilitate improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure thorough investigation of new issues and implementation of countermeasures.
- Certified electrician (low voltage up to 1000VAC/1500VDC) is required; additional certifications in Environmental, Health, and Safety are advantageous.
- Approximately 2-3 years of professional experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably with similar technical equipment.
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, and potentially for extended periods; a proactive approach to all situations is expected.
- Availability for off-hours calls and work is necessary.
- Technical degree in Electrics or equivalent is required.
- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with external service providers.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English and German; additional European languages are a plus.
- Capacity to work independently and self-direct, with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple activities and challenges simultaneously.
- Proficient with common workplace and database software (MS Office).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of using basic electrical measuring devices (multimeter/isolation tester, RCD test device).
