Lead Digital Life Sciences Initiatives

We are seeking a seasoned professional to drive our digital life sciences strategy, leveraging expertise in computational chemistry, data sciences, and leadership. As Director of Digital Life Sciences, you will oversee the development of a diverse team of computational chemists and data scientists, driving innovation in computer-aided drug discovery, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and research informatics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive life science data strategy, integrating departments and countries.
  • Lead a team of computational chemists and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including AI, ML, and CADD, to enhance drug discovery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with data science professionals and engineers to design and implement research informatics infrastructure.
  • Develop and nurture a vision for computational tools and approaches to support generative drug discovery.
  • Work closely with clients from biotech, pharma, and life sciences enterprises, advancing drug discovery projects through virtual screening strategies.
  • Manage internal and external projects, providing input into project proposals and reports.
  • Strengthen external visibility and scientific excellence through publishing and engaging with the scientific community.
Requirements
  • PhD in life sciences, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • 10+ years of experience driving projects in digital life sciences, with a focus on computational chemistry and data sciences.
  • Proven track record of leading a molecular modeling or research informatics group in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Excellent understanding of chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and DMPK relevant to drug design.
  • Profound experience in computational chemistry techniques, including structure- and ligand-based approaches and ML methods.
  • Very good language skills in written and spoken English.
  • Independent working attitude, with excellent teamwork, reliability, and flexibility skills.
  • Track record of publications and presentations, demonstrating the application of computational molecular design to drug discovery.
