Our goal is to facilitate our clients' journey towards net-zero emissions through a diverse range of energy products and integration capabilities. This includes a significant shift from fossil fuels to bio-based or low-carbon alternatives.
DCC Energy is a prominent distributor of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), supplying approximately 1.3 million tonnes across 10 countries, which contributes significantly to our profits. LPG serves various purposes, including cooking, heating, and industrial applications, and has a lower carbon footprint compared to oil products. We are committed to expanding its relevance by transitioning to low-carbon liquid gas alternatives, targeting a volume of 300,000 tonnes by 2030.
To achieve these objectives, we are establishing a dedicated Divisional Sustainable Gas team, and this role is crucial in driving the implementation of our Low Carbon Liquid Gas strategy. We seek individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and eager to make a meaningful impact in this transformative sector.
Role Purpose
The Commercial and Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing DCC Energy's low carbon liquid gas strategy by developing a comprehensive plan to enhance sales volumes, supported by compelling value propositions, marketing strategies, and effective policy frameworks. This position will assist DCC Energy's LPG subsidiaries in crafting and executing plans to increase the market presence of renewable LPG and renewable DME, while also enhancing their marketing capabilities and leveraging the policy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Country Strategy and Marketing:
- Collaborate with regional teams to maintain comprehensive country plans for low carbon liquid gas, outlining projected volumes, margins, policy support, supply chain requirements, and local responsibilities.
- Support and challenge teams to refine the value proposition and sales strategies for low carbon liquid gas, including market segmentation, offerings, pricing, and communications.
- Assist the sustainable gas team and local subsidiaries in evaluating proposed supply projects and investments from a commercial perspective.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and insights on low carbon liquid gas sales and policies within the supply community.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and government bodies.
- Engage in team discussions regarding developments in the renewable fuels market and industry.
- Contribute insights on low carbon liquid gas and other sustainable fuels, updating the strategy and identifying new opportunities in the sector.
- Assist in analyzing the regulatory landscape for low carbon liquid gas, assessing the implications of proposed changes, and advocating for measures that promote production and sales.
- Participate in industry working groups focused on renewable gas, taking a proactive role in policy advocacy.
- Support government affairs professionals in crafting advocacy strategies that align with low carbon liquid gas objectives.
- Over 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development, with exposure to regulatory affairs being advantageous.
- A master's degree, preferably in business.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, fostering collaboration and creativity across teams.
- Strong analytical abilities, detail-oriented, with a capacity to understand and interpret complex technical or legal issues.
- A genuine passion for the energy transition and new business opportunities.
- Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in at least one additional European language preferred.
