Position Overview:
At Forschungszentrum Jülich, we are pioneering innovative interdisciplinary techniques to explore the fundamental mechanisms in batteries and electrolysis through pulsed NMR. By gaining insights into the spin states that need to be experimentally prepared, we are customizing magnetic pulses to enhance the capabilities of NMR in operando studies, investigating aspects such as interfaces and membranes. A thorough characterization of these pulses is essential for optimizing workflows. This project centers on the implementation and evaluation of a cutting-edge spectrogram pulse analysis technique. Your responsibilities will include:
- Adapting a leading spectrogram module for pulse sequence analysis from Matlab to Python
- Validating the spectrogram module against various established pulse sequences
- Collaborating with experimental NMR spectroscopists
- Examining the impact of electrochemical NMR setups on spin state preparation using spectrograms
Candidate Profile:
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in chemistry, physics, data science, computer science, or a related discipline
- Fundamental knowledge of NMR spectroscopy is required
- Proficiency in Python programming is essential
- Familiarity with the basics of electrochemistry and spin dynamics is advantageous
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research projects and a collaborative work ethic
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in a structured manner
- Strong command of written and spoken English
