In the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry, leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are seeking robust strategies to enhance their supply chain visibility, control, and resilience. Arrow Electronics, Inc. is at the forefront of this transformation through its Global Supply Chain Services division. We are in search of a key player for the following role:

Business Development Director - Arrow Global Supply Chain Services (m/w/d)

This is an individual contributor position.

Key Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, with 10-12 years of proven success in B2B solution selling to major European Tier 1 and OEM Strategic Accounts.
  • Established network with decision-makers in the automotive sector is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with energy and professionalism, particularly in semiconductors, logistics, software, supply chain services, or related sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key account selling, electronic components distribution, and global supply chain dynamics is essential.
  • Strong existing relationships within the industry are crucial.
  • Proficient in building and leveraging relationships and identifying key decision-makers.
  • Expertise in consultative sales techniques and converting leads into actionable opportunities.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to develop tailored solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of multinational cloud, compute, and consumer accounts, including a strong grasp of European Automotive OEMs and regional accounts.
  • Proven track record in strategic selling and managing complex multinational accounts across EMEA, US, and APAC regions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for crafting and delivering engaging, complex proposals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, demonstrating excellent relationship-building skills to create customized solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact and generate sales opportunities within targeted critical, large, multi-location, complex, and high-visibility Arrow customers through a strategic sales plan.
  • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities for Arrow's Global Supply Chain Solutions to large enterprise accounts.
  • Establish a pipeline of opportunities, articulating their status while assessing their size and scope.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs, design and production partners, and decision-making hierarchies to continuously evaluate and validate customer requirements.
  • Lead a strategic account planning process that sets and manages mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and key milestones.
  • Enhance profitability and maximize margins by offering value-added, long-term solutions, with the ability to expand within complex organizations.
  • Direct cross-functional Arrow personnel, including sales support, service, and management resources, to achieve account objectives and meet customer expectations. Typically manages accounts exceeding $125 million.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present compelling value-based proposals to C-level and senior management decision-makers, showcasing Arrow's value proposition and extensive capabilities in global supply chain services.
  • Leverage relationships within the distribution/rep/supplier community to drive sales and profits with target customers.
  • Foster strong relationships with supplier representatives and managers, utilizing these connections for insights into future product development and supply chain solutions.
  • Build relationships with key personnel in operations, finance, and supply chain at targeted accounts.
  • Engage Arrow's leadership when collaborating with key customers and suppliers to enhance the selling process and develop critical relationships.
  • Oversee all RFQ activities within assigned customers, ensuring they align with Arrow's guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate directly in the review and negotiation of significant contracts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Arrow's market share in each assigned account and the competitive landscape.
  • Consistently uphold a dominant market share position at each assigned account.
  • Adopt innovative and creative approaches to supplier and customer action plans, demonstrating expert understanding of the customer's business across all organizational levels.
  • Implement account and territory strategies to meet or exceed annual and quarterly targets, alongside major business objectives.
  • Effectively communicate customer needs and objectives, along with industry supply chain trends, to Arrow leadership.
