Electrical Systems Engineer for Trains

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Train Electrical Engineer based in Hennigsdorf, Germany, to take on a pivotal role in our project engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee all electrical engineering deliverables and manage a multi-disciplinary team effectively.

Your Mission:

You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting carry-over analysis for electrical products to identify reusable components from previous projects.
  • Managing Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) estimations and workload assessments.
  • Contributing to engineering planning with a comprehensive view of end-to-end processes.
  • Assisting in the definition of Product Development Objectives (PDO).
  • Staying informed about Project Input Outputs (PIO).
  • Making informed technology choices.
  • Defining architectural elements, including equipment cubicle content and layout.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating on the scope of supply between train systems and subsystems.
  • Ensuring the delivery of electrical engineering outputs up to the System Gate Review (SGR).
  • Facilitating interfaces between project teams and the Center of Excellence (CoE) for electrical engineering.
  • Overseeing the integration of harness systems.
  • Managing operational aspects of the project team.
  • Ensuring effective communication with various engineering disciplines.
  • Leading design and deliverable reviews.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering domain.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in railway electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (e.g., See One / Catia EHI).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in team management.
  • Knowledge of train systems, functions, and harness manufacturing processes.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
