About The Role:
As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will oversee the entire operational team within the warehouse. You will hold complete accountability for warehouse operations and quality assurance. Your role involves coaching and guiding your team to meet daily objectives while tracking performance and the development of key performance indicators (KPIs). Continuous improvement of existing processes will be a priority.
Your Responsibilities:
- Strategically oversee warehouse operations in alignment with the company's policies and vision.
- Provide effective leadership to the warehousing team, promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.
- Establish and uphold best practices in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving operations.
- Ensure optimal space utilization and consistently enhance operational efficiency based on KPI analysis and management.
- Manage stock control and ensure reconciliation with the data storage system.
- Collaborate with international logistics and service departments, negotiating terms and conditions with transport providers.
- Plan work schedules, delegate tasks appropriately, and evaluate outcomes.
- Recruit, select, mentor, and inspire employees, preparing annual plans concerning costs and workforce.
- Plan and oversee temporary staffing requirements.
- Lead a team of approximately [number] individuals.
- Regularly generate reports and statistics to manage operational performance and resource utilization.
- Implement measures to standardize and enhance logistics efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Take ownership of inventory management and physical stock audits.
- Maintain health and safety standards, hygiene, and security, ensuring compliance with all warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations.
- Apply expert knowledge to resolve common business challenges.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in warehouse management procedures, software systems, and industry best practices.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of warehousing KPIs, objectives, and key results.
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills, with empathy and effective leadership.
- Comprehension of the overall business landscape and the interdependencies between various functions.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
