The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is a leading research institution in the field of global change, climate impacts, and sustainable development. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled student assistant to join our Energy Systems group.

About the Position

We are looking for a student assistant to support our research team in the field of energy systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data, developing software, and contributing to the method development for our research on the energy transition.

Responsibilities
  • Managing data for our techno-economic database
  • Developing software in R and Python for our techno-economic analysis framework
  • Contributing to the method development for our research on the energy transition
  • Reviewing and collecting literature and data on techno-economics of energy technologies
Requirements
  • Studying computer science, programming, physics, maths, engineering, system sciences, economics, or a related field
  • Basic to solid programming skills and experience in Python and/or R
  • Experience and interest in collaborative working
