PhD Candidate in Medical Research

We are seeking a dedicated Doctoral Researcher/PhD to contribute to a funded research initiative focused on Cystic Fibrosis. This project will investigate the role of airway commensals and their metabolites in enhancing the effectiveness of CFTR modulators.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct analyses on the impact of commensal oro-pharyngeal bacteria and their metabolites on the therapeutic outcomes of newly developed medications.
- Utilize primary cells, mouse models, and human biological materials while employing a diverse range of biochemical, physiological, immunological, and microbiological techniques.
This research is a collaborative effort between the teams of Prof. Dr. Alexander Dalpke and Prof. Dr. Marcus Mall, requiring the candidate to spend time in both Berlin and Heidelberg.
Qualifications- A Master's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field.
- A strong sense of curiosity, enthusiasm, and motivation, along with a proactive approach to learning new methodologies.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- Willingness to engage with experimental mouse models.
- Commitment to spending time at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin for skill development.
