As **Head of Engineering** at Sinaptik, you'll be responsible for leading all engineering initiatives and collaborating closely with our talented team of engineers to design and implement innovative solutions that deliver tremendous value to our users. You'll oversee architecture, system design, and implementation while fostering a culture of engineering excellence. **Your Responsibilities**
- Lead all backend engineering initiatives, overseeing system architecture, design and implementation
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence by mentoring and coaching team members
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends and incorporate them into our stack
- Set the technical vision and roadmap for our backend systems and infrastructure
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, from planning to deployment
- Recruit and hire exceptional backend engineering talent to scale our team
- Promote best practices for security, scalability, availability and performance across all backend systems

**Requirements and Skills**
- **3+ years of experience** leading engineering teams and organizations
- **Proven track record** of building, mentoring and retaining high-performing engineering teams
- Excellent understanding of modern software architecture, design patterns and best practices
- Experience driving technical vision and roadmaps for complex products and platforms
- Expertise in systems scaling, availability, performance and security
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Passion for developing innovative solutions and pushing the boundaries of what's possible

**Nice to Have**
- **Demonstrated leadership** managing engineers at all levels
- **Advanced degree** such as an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science
- Experience with machine learning, NLP or other cutting-edge technologies
- Background in a highly analytical field such as data science or quantitative modeling
- **Record of open source contributions** or other impactful technology initiatives
