**Beschreibung**:
The Climate Geography Lab at the University of Freiburg (CliG) researches weather and climate extremes, especially on the regional to local scale. One focus is on convective weather events. Of particular interest are cross-scale processes that interlace local conditions with larger scale dynamics. By exploring these patterns, we hope to better understand variability and changes in small-scale extremes. One of the main challenges in this field is to understand uncertainties in observational data, quantify them, and describe their impact on process representations in weather, climate, and impact models. Inter
- and transdisciplinary collaborations are also underway to explore the impacts of weather and climate events on systems such as the hydro-, geo-, and anthroposphere, e.g., through natural hazard and risk modelling.

**Your profile**
- A completed above-average Master’s degree (or equivalent) from the Geo
- and Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Environmental Statistics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of a programming language (Python, MATLAB, R) and/or strong interest in becoming involved in scientific programming.
- Independency and a problem solving mindset
- Willingness to present work results in scientific publications, meetings and international conferences
- A high level of proficiency in oral and written English; knowledge of German is helpful
