The Department of Medicine II, University Medical Center Freiburg, is looking for a

**PhD student (M/F/d)**:

- We focus on translational research in the field of tumor immune escape in Hepatocellular carcinoma. Our results contribute to a better understanding of tumor-immune cell interactions with implications for therapeutic strategies.**Job description**:

**Your work includes but is not limited to**:

- autonomous processing of research tasks related to immune escape in hepatocellular carcinoma
- working with 3D ex vivo models including tumor spheroids and organoids
- establishing of new methods to elaborate on subsequent research questions
- working with infectious sample material (S3** lab)
- presentation of results on regular lab and (inter-)national conferences
- supervision of students

**Prerequisites**:

- we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys translational scientific work in an interdisciplinary and international team
- strong interest in translational research, human immunology and oncology
- distinct working autonomy combined with a high capacity for teamwork
- a careful and focused working habit
- enjoy scientific work
- awareness of careful documentation
- ability to work independently and as a part of an international team
- communication skills in English
- knowledge in presentation skills
