To analyze the immunogenicity of ocular gene therapy vectors in mouse models
To study the immunological effects of retinal gene therapy approaches in these models in vivo and in vitro
To assess retinal structure and vasculature using ocular imaging

Experiences with animal models, cell culture techniques, molecular biology techniques and histology are advantageous

The Chair of Experimental lmmunology of the Eye is an independent division of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital Cologne with a strong research focus on innate immune activation in the diseased retina. The laboratory is a leading institution for experimental immunology centered around age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and rare monogenetic retinal dystrophies including retinitis pigmentosa.
