In order to support the navigation systems department, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

**Bachelor student in the field of embedded computers (d/f/m), title of thesis “Setup of an Embedded Computer for a Flying Test Bed”**:
Within the navigation department, a flying test bed shall be setup. An embedded Computer will be the brain of the flying test bed, which shall host the navigation algorithms developed by the navigation department.

Within this bachelor thesis, an embedded computer shall be put in operation. A method for integration of the navigation algorithms onto the embedded computer based on Airbus middleware “Si²” shall be developed and realized. This includes also the development of a test procedure to ensure proper integration of the algorithms.

Moreover, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a GPS receiver shall be connected to the embedded computer to feed the navigation algorithms with real-world data. Finally, a flight test with a hexacopter shall be conducted which will be the working proof of the overall flying test bed.

**Your tasks and responsibilities**:

- Familiarization with navigation algorithm, embedded computer and Airbus middleware “Si²”
- Development of integration concept including test procedure
- Connecting IMU and GPS receiver to embedded computer
- Hexacopter flight as final proof

**Desired skills and qualifications**:

- Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of informatics, computer science or an equivalent field of study.
- First practical experience in the field of Embedded Computers and/or Software Integration is desirable.
- Self-dependent working style
- Programming skills with C++
- Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English, German language skills are an advantage
