The **Finance Controller** **position **is responsible for directing all Hach Finance activities for several Subsidiaries and plants in Europe, including compliance and SOX Controls. The position is further responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to Country manager and local team plus functional leaders in the country. This includes conducting financial and business analyses to identify potential problems and recommended solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual strategic plans, financial budgets and monthly forecast and cover SOX Controls for compliance part. This position is located in Berlin, Germany

**In this role, a typical day will look like**:

- You will be responsible for total Revenue of circa €50 million.
- You will analyze the monthly results versus forecast, explaining one-off costs and propose countermeasures.
- You will prepare monthly financial reports for functional managers and for the Finance Director EU Mid & North
- You will support the development of the monthly forecasting process, annual financial budget and any business improvement initiatives.
- You will coordinate with the accounting team to support submission of accurate and timely financial statements that are compliant with US GAAP, Hach accounting practices and compliance standards including SOX controls for the main entity.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA Degree and/or CPA are preferred
- Experience of driving operational business performance and growth in a lean environment, as well as experience of FP&A
- Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX compliance requirements
- Strong IT skills, which must include advanced knowledge of Excel
- Fluent in English and German language proficiency.
