For our group "Building Performance Optimization" we are looking for a Student Assistant as soon as possible.
You want to actively shape the energy transition and already gain practical experience during your studies? Our group develops and tests model
- and data-based methods for fault diagnosis in the operational monitoring and operational optimization of building services systems. By implementing data analysis and AI methods (e.g. machine learning, statistical data analysis, simulation, etc.), you will actively work on improving building heating and cooling operations, thus contributing to the development of energy-efficient, "smart" buildings. The topic can also be further worked on as part of a master's thesis.
**What you will do**
- You support us in measurement data analysis and data management of building operations to find weak points and improve energy efficiency
- For this purpose, you will implement and test methods of classical data analysis and/or machine learning
- Application areas include time series prediction, fault detection or development of optimal operation strategies
- In addition, you can support us in modeling, simulation and optimization of building energy systems (especially electricity-based cooling or heating, e.g. by heat pumps, storage)
**What you bring to the table**
- You are studying physics, computer science, engineering or a comparable field of study
- You have very good programming skills in Python or another programming language
- You have very good knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
- Machine Learning, experience with Tensorflow/pytorch or comparable frameworks
- Modeling and simulation of building energy systems
- Control engineering or model predictive control
- Solving optimization problems

Remuneration is based on the degree of completion of the university education. The monthly working time should be between 20 - 80 hours.
