Supply Chain Director Cardiopulmonary Equipment (M/F/d)

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Director will oversee all aspects of the supply chain function within the Cardiopulmonary perfusion equipment environment. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in managing complex supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Supply Chain Director will lead a team of functional managers responsible for various aspects of the supply chain, including supply chain management, demand planning, order entry, warehouse and logistics, and export and trade compliance.

General Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement across the supply chain.
- Oversee purchasing processes, ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials, components, and finished goods while maintaining quality standards and minimizing costs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and mitigate risks.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to optimize working capital while meeting customer demand.
- Lead Munich demand forecasting activities (SIOP) to anticipate market demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer requirements.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to gather market intelligence and incorporate it into demand planning processes.
- Develop and implement efficient order management processes to ensure accurate and timely order processing, fulfilment, and delivery.
- Monitor order fulfilment metrics and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from service level agreements.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution activities, to ensure efficient utilization of space and resources.
- Optimize logistics and distribution networks to minimize transportation costs and lead times while maximizing service levels.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable export regulations, trade policies, and customs requirements to facilitate international shipments.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to maintain up-to-date knowledge of export controls and trade compliance regulations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor direct reports, supporting their professional growth and succession planning within the organization.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences
- Master´s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with proven track record.
- Several years of progressive experience in supply chain management within the medtech or automotive industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving supply chain optimization initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, export controls, and trade compliance regulations in the medtech industry.
