Finance & Controlling Working Student

**Your impact**:
Handshake is looking for a driven and motivated Finance & Controlling Working Student to help us manage the financial operations of our growing team in EMEA.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders, be involved in financial processes needed in a global scale-up, and be integral to driving high-level financial performance across Handshake. Partnering directly with the Financial Controller, and reporting into the Gechaftsfurher in Germany, your focus will be on various accounting functions within our EMEA region.
**Your role**:
- Gain insights into the accounting functions of our EMEA region and be responsible for various tasks in these areas.
- Be actively involved in the day-to-day business operations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our financial processes.
- Contribute to and assist in the preparation of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes accounting, forecasts and budget processes.
- Help optimize financial processes by identifying opportunities for process automation and digitalization, contributing to the expansion of our finance, controlling, and accounting infrastructure.
**Your experience**:
- Fluent in German and English
- Enrolled student of business administration with a focus on accounting, finance, controlling or comparable course of study
- Previous work experience, such as internships or working as a student, in Accounting, Finance, or related fields would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of accounting concepts, principles and standards, and interest in the field of controlling
- Confident handling of MS Office (especially Microsoft Excel), VBA as well as an affinity for numbers and familiarisation with various controlling systems
- Fluent proficiency in both German and English, accompanied by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent and reliable way of working
- Exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
