Job Description Summary

The Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center is seeking three full-time clinical research coordinators who will be responsible for supporting multiple mixed-methods projects with an emphasis on reducing health inequities and focus on socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or medically underserved groups. These projects include: (1) a study aimed at understanding how patients with advanced lung disease and their families form expectations for their future health; and (2) a community-engaged study to better understand the experiences and support needs of youth who provide informal caregiving to older, frail, ill, or disabled family members. The CRC will join a diverse, multidisciplinary team working to improve the lives of people and families coping with serious illness and improve health equity across multiple domains. Joanna Hart, MD, MSHP provides faculty leadership of this team.

Job Responsibilities

CRC A:

- Lead all screening, recruitment, and consent protocols for research studies
- Administer surveys repeatedly over time with seriously ill patients and their family members
- Conduct interviews and record clinical office visits with patients and family members
- Perform qualitative data analysis on office visit and interview transcripts
- Maintain study databases and data tracking systems using REDCap
- Attend research team meetings
- Maintain regulatory compliance and IRB documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned

CRC B:

- Lead all screening, recruitment, and consent protocols for research studies
