We are looking for a CTO (M/F/d) who is interested in being part of a technology startup to challenge the recruitment industry for skilled professionals (Fachkräfte). With a focus on new technologies including blockchain and artificial intelligence, we are changing the way trust is created in the technical skills sector. With a combination of global knowledge, technology excellence and industry knowhow, we are disrupting the recruitment landscape.
Our goal is: to bridge the international skills gap and enable people with the right skills to land the perfect job, wherever three is a demand.
As we enter the growth phase of our business, we are looking for a CTO with a software engineering background to become a leader in the company.
As the CTO, you are responsible for Software Engineering & Infrastructure to build the digital products in the portfolio, you will further develop the technology strategy and lead the engineering team. Your responsibilities include:
- Strive for competitive advantage for the business by identifying and implementing new technologies and trends
- Design and develop a tech strategy and system architecture derived from the existing business strategy in line with the defined business objectives
- Own the technology roadmap and deliver the next generation of the product platform
- Foster engineering culture based on agile values and technical excellence in a mainly remote and international context
- Responsibility and control of KPIs, SLAs and IT budgets for planning and evaluation of IT performance
- Management of critical legacy systems and planning related to modernization or replacement
- Passion to present company and its leading technology with customers, partners and in other external situations
- Ability to build a world-class team leveraging international resources, external partners and modern ways of collaboration and co-development
Your Skills
- Experience in backend software development, preferably in fields like:
- Cloud-based web apps
- Data Analytics
- Optimization algorithm
- AI & ML development strategies
- Commitment, motivation and entrepreneurial spirit to build up a startup are key
- Strong capability to deep dive and learn new topics
- Creativity to solve complex problems and design technical solutions
- Experience in the HR is beneficial
**Your profile**
As a young company, Certif-ID relies on managers with entrepreneurial decision-making skills, professional competence, and motivation to achieve something together. You should bring to the table:
- Several years (7-10+) of experience as a successful executive with overall technological responsibility in a company where digitization and technology are drivers for the success of the business
- Customer-centric mindset, an instinct for the needs of a modern user experience
- Experience in developing AI-based products / data products
- Strong, winning personality and excellent communication skills in any situation - Strong English language skills, German and other languages are a plus.
- Hands-on mentality, can-do attitude, team player, pragmatism & entrepreneurial spirit including strong commercial understanding
- Excellent knowledge of state-of-the art IT systems, IT technologies and infrastructures
- Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to be effective in an ever changing environment
- Experience in “make or buy” decisions and how to manage outsourcing partners
- Having a base in or around Cologne, Germany is a plus.
