Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for an experienced Vice President, Government Affairs, to join our office in Hamburg, Germany, with the possibility of working remotely out of i.e. Berlin.

The role

You will execute the regulatory and public affairs strategy and day-to-day policy and public affairs activity in Germany. You will lead external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, partnerships, and initiatives in Germany in support of business objectives. Furthermore, you will coordinate CIP’s engagement with German industry associations and manage consultancy support.

Working together with the senior managers across our projects in Germany, the Global Public Affairs and Communications team in CIP’s HQ in Copenhagen and other key stakeholders and partners, you will work to meet the organization’s goals and drive policy and regulatory change around offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, and other renewable technologies.

You will report to the Head of Project Public Affairs in CISC and you will collaborate closely with the Head of Global Public Affairs Communications and Marketing of CIP and the CIP Market Lead Partner in Germany.

Responsibilities will further consist of:

- Proactively deepening our relationships with senior leaders across Government and the devolved authorities to increase influential voice of CIP.
- Monitor German government and external policy and public affairs developments around renewable energy, maintaining a strong understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape.
- Working with relevant colleagues to respond to relevant Federal and Länder Government and non-government policy consultations and submission.
- Deliver internal policy communications and recommendations to promote policy work across the organization.
- Coordinate our engagement with German industry associations and manage consultancy support.
- Lead and manage screening of public funding programmes (in renewables, green hydrogen, advanced biofuels, etc.) with a focus on Germany.
- Support on communications activities and content in Germany in coordination with the Global Communications team.

You are a confident leader and influencer, operating independently yet respectfully and collaboratively within wider regional and international structures. You have a strong knowledge and understanding of the policy landscape, and work with key external stakeholders including parliamentarians and civil servants to deliver our policy and public affairs objectives.
- 8+ years of experience in energy policy and/or economics; ideally experience in the German political arena.
- A relevant degree, ideally in Public Policy, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, Law or similar.
- Strong written, verbal and power point communication skills in English and German, with the ability to deliver clear and concise messages to the stakeholders and process owners.
- Strong skills in preparing complex (energy) policy issues in a way that is appropriate for the target audience.
- Convincing stakeholder management skills as well as communication and presentation skills for both senior and junior stakeholders across internal and external functions.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to take initiative and work proactively in a fast-changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Ability to give and receive criticism and having an interest in continuous professional and personal development.
