Senior Government Affairs Manager


As a Senior Manager Government Affairs, you will be responsible for developing and executing our government affairs and policy strategies in key EU Member States, in alignment with our business goals and social mission. You will also liaise with EU stakeholders, in coordination with the Director Government Affairs Europe, to ensure a consistent and effective approach. This position can be based anywhere in the European Union.


Your tasks


  • Promote Sonova’s interests and reputation through engagement with government institutions and other relevant stakeholders in selected EU Member States
  • Map external stakeholders and represent Sonova in relevant trade associations and coalitions, to shape and drive policies in the hearing health sector
  • Provide strategic advice, draft position papers, and collaborate with senior Sonova leaders, to align business and policy goals
  • Monitor and communicate policy and regulatory changes relevant to the hearing industry sector Align and collaborate with Sonova Government Affairs and other internal teams to ensure consistent and compliant policy and advocacy efforts


Your profile


  • A university degree in Law, Political Science, Economics, International Affairs, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • 8 -10 years of professional experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory, legal, or related sector, ideally in the med tech industry, and/or trade association or consultancy
  • Firm Knowledge of the EU policy priorities in the medical technology, sustainability, and digital sectors
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in working across different teams and stakeholders
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to handle stress and uncertainty in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of the EU legislation making process (Commission; Parliament; Council), as well as Member State processes, ideally in Germany and France
  • Fluency in English and German; other EU languages would be a plus
