Arbeiten an der Charité
**Description**:
Charité was once again voted the best hospital in Germany because our more than 20.900 employees do an excellent job every day - both in patient care and in research, teaching and administration. Patients from all over the world rely on the expertise of our staff as well as on state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment methods.
A scientific project based on molecular and cellbiological analyses aims at definition and biochemical characterization of subcellular structures and pathomechanistical processes for hereditary neurodegenerative disorders. Several murine cell models will be used to adress this issue. The project represents a research interface placed in the scientific field of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and human medicine, and is suitable also for researches to comeback into a scientific environment and continue experimental work. The project offers the chance to work in one of the best medical universities in Germany with the possibility of numerous scientific collaborations. The project is initially limited for eight months. However, a perennial financing is aimed for, which would offer the possibility for a doctoral dissertation (grade: Dr. rer. nat., Dr. rer. medic., Dr. med.).

handling of DNA, RNA and proteins
experimental analysis in cell culture
analytical techniques (gel electrophoresis, western blot, polymerase chain reaction (PCR))
in silico (gene-)analyses
planned publication of results in high-quality peer reviewed journals
attending institute-based scientific meetings
attending (international) scientific meetings and presenting results
Danach suchen wir
**Required**:
Some background knowledge in antibody/enzyme and further protein and DNA/RNA handling would be favorable
Analytical experiences in gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and PCR is of advantage
As a part of this position, this includes the unequivocal acceptance of animal studies for medical purposes as such studies will be conducted at the institute and material obtained during the work in this project might be used in animal experiments
