**Unser Profil**:
At the Institute of Highway Engineering, RWTH Aachen, we are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team focusing on the design of roads for traffic safety and the protection of vulnerable users. Our research group analyses traffic safety by examining conflicts between vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. We design advanced road safety infrastructure, including novel road signs, and employ surrogate measures to identify conflict areas, machine vision for accurate traffic conflict measurement, and driving simulators and virtual reality to safely reproduce conflicts and understand the influence of various driver conditions on traffic safety.

**Ihre Aufgaben**:

- Leading an interdisciplinary team of researchers and technicians in the field of traffic safety
- Independent work on difficult research tasks as part of the development and implementation of research strategies and projects
- Collaboration with external partners, research institutions and industrial partners
- Responsible for project management, including resource planning and budgeting
- Evaluation of technologies and trends in the field of traffic safety
- Write journal papers and present findings at conferences and stakeholder meetings to disseminate research outcomes
- Acquisition of research projects in the above-mentioned areas
- Assist in the mentorship of graduate students and junior researchers
- Supervision of courses and student theses
