**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**

As the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator, you will be working on ONE's policy positions with internal stakeholders and external partners while trying to build meaningful relationships. This includes coordinating the development of our policy and advocacy strategies, parliamentary monitoring and relationship building with stakeholders. ONE's core issues encompass development financing, global health, and gender equality. You will support the Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager in Germany, liaise with colleagues in Europe, North America, and Africa, and be an integral part of driving ONE's mission to unlock transformative finances to end poverty and preventable diseases in Africa.

This permanent position is based in our Berlin office with workplace flexibility options. The Policy and Advocacy Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

**IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL**
- Help develop our advocacy strategies to implement the political part of our German, European, and international campaigns on a national level.
- Assist in developing ONE Germany's political positions and messaging.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners
- Help build meaningful relations with relevant stakeholders in government, parliament, and civil society.
- Provide research to support the policy and advocacy and broader work of the Berlin as well as Global Policy team.
- Help inform our PR and campaign work by analysing current political debates and processes.
- Prepare documents on specific policy issues, including briefing papers, policy analyses, blog posts, and talking points.
- Draft, edit, and supervise the translation of documents for use with German stakeholders, including ONE's global policy reports, position papers, policy briefings, and other relevant documents.
- Undertake any other duties as required

**WHAT YOU BRING TO ONE**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in international development, politics, economics, or a related area.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a policy role (internships can be counted on a case-by-case basis).
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and to engage people of different backgrounds and levels, from policymakers to volunteers and ONE supporters.
- Political sense and ability to interact with government officials and political representatives.
- Comprehensive understanding of development issues, especially on the African continent and ideally with regards to ONE's core issues.
- Native German speaker; Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is also essential
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Quick turnaround with research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex policy documents, seek out key facts and statistics and translate these for a wider audience.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to deliver high quality work with a reliable personality and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Authorized to work in Germany.
