As part of our growing organization, we are looking for an HSE Country Officer for Germany.

How to contribute to our vision

You will support the Country CEO/MD in fulfilling her/his HSE responsibility and serve as key contact for all HSE matters in the country. The Country HSE Officer shall assume the functions and responsibilities of the Country HSE Contact and the following non-exhaustive list:

- Lead and direct the Country HSE organizational teams and overall management of their performance.
- Provide assurance on the implementation of all aspects of HSE contained within the SGRE Integrated Management System for their respective Country, and feeds back on continuous improvement or areas where compliance cannot be achieved.
- Support the SGRE audit program as part of the Integrated Management System and follows up to close out of findings in a pro-active manner.
- Ensure that current statutory requirements are identified and fulfilled, suitable to the business operations within the Country. Identify and report on proposed changes to legislation.
- Assess and communicate with relevant Stakeholders, the demand for HSE personnel resources in Country. Assesses HSE-related competences for roles and responsibilities, considering local legal requirements and meeting global SGRE IMS requirements. Formulating the strategy to maintain competencies, including providing advice on allocation of resources to achieve effective levels of competency.
- Collaborate with Country CEO and other support functions on the strategy to achieve (in Country) the SGRE Global HSE objectives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Country HSE Strategy. Feedback to both Country CEO (M.D.) and SGRE Global Regional HSE functions.
- Control HSE related incident and response reporting in accordance with SGRE Incident Response and Reporting System.
- Monitor HSE performance from all business-related activities in the country, to work towards continuous improvement.
- Ensure implementation of HSE related risk management from all business-related activities applicable to the scope in the country.
- Contribute to analyzing future internal stakeholder HSE requirements.
- Ensure adequate HSE related communication towards internal and external stakeholders and authorities. Single point of contact for local regulators.

What you need to make a difference

Ideally you have gained experience working abroad within a multicultural environment. Your experience should have been gained working in renewables, electricity distribution or a similar heavily regulated industry. The scope of your responsibility as Country HSE Officer will be (not limited) to:

- Offices
- Manufacturing Plants
- Warehouses
- Project & Service sites

You should be a naturally confident speaker and love the flexibility and challenges that the role offers you. As travel forms part of the role, a full driver’s license is required. The working language will be German & English.

We also expect an excellent level of fitness - there will be regular climbing involved in monitoring work teams in Wind Turbines
- and the ability to work within a process environment, process improvement and to promote a healthy and safe working environment.

A strong knowledge of the MS Office package is a must, as well as a sound understanding of the local legislative HSE requirements. Driving license B will be needed for the role.
