We want to have the world's best underwriting (UW) community and are establishing the Swiss Re Underwriting Academy The Academy will focus on the strategic development of our underwriters, ensuring everyone has the skills and capabilities needed for us to be a high-performing business.

**About the Role**

You will be part of a small team, and together with the UW leaders we will set the strategic direction and help orchestrate activities to make it happen.

As a Strategic Initiatives & Programme Lead, your responsibilities will include:

- **Strategic initiatives**: Lead agile sprints or longer-term strategic initiatives. You will steer and guide diverse ad-hoc teams focusing on topics such as capability frameworks, learning journeys, ways to measure success, exploring new solutions etc.
- **Programs and Conferences**: Be the programme manager of select Learning & Development programs and make sure that knowledge sharing is relevant, fun and impacting our bottom-line. This might include designing and managing our Global Learning Series, leading on our yearly UW conference or any other high-impact programs.
- **Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts**:The Academy is business-led and you'll work with internal and external experts to translate their vast knowledge and experience into meaningful learning measures. Find ways to embed a learning culture across the company. Intellectual curiosity will be a key to our success
- **Connect People**:You will be part of the founding members of the UW Academy. Help us make it a success Use your communication and marketing skills, connect people, have good ideas, deliver on them, and make sure that our 2500 underwriters see value in sharing their insights.

**About You**
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset, is curious, innovative and imaginative
- Has an underwriting or actuarial background, or the willingness to learn it
- Takes ownership, and believes one can control the performance of their projects by their own actions
- Is self-motivated learner, who spots needs (and importantly, does something about it)
- Shows strong project management skills and is used to collaborating and coordinating with cross-functional teams (incl. an ability to drive decisions when required)
- Has an attention to detail and knows when it matters versus when you need to see the big picture
- A talent for communications, marketing, or learning & development are an asset
