**What you will do**
- We continuously have new and challenging research topics we work on.
- Our research covers, e.g., computing on encrypted data and anonymization. Here, an interesting challenge is to intuitively, visually communicate the security and privacy guarantees to the end user.
- Student tasks range from designing and implementing web-based graphical interfaces for our research prototypes for demonstrations to visualizing concepts from applied cryptography or anonymization.
- The tasks will be supervised and guided by one of our experts in the respective fields.
- In some cases, we also have bachelor and master thesis topics. Here it is important for us to provide you a topic which also fits the expectations of your university.

We are currently looking for working students, interns, and thesis students (f/m/d) to support us with the following topic areas:

- Web-based graphical interfaces
- Visualization of concepts in Applied Cryptography or Anonymization

The position provides exciting learning opportunities. Specifically, gaining insights about applied research, working with domain experts, and sharpening skills to develop demonstrators and proof-of-concept graphical interfaces.

**What you bring**
- Student (f/m) at a university or a university of applied sciences
- Preferred fields of study: Informatics/Mathematics or similar field of study
- Computer skills:Proficiency in software development
- Programming: Good programming skills in Javascript and foundation of web technologies (e.g., CSS, HTML)
- Experience or strong desire to learn designing and implementing web-based graphical interfaces (e.g., Javascript frameworks like SAP UI5)
- Language skills: Fluency in German or English
- Soft skills:Ability to communicate accurately and proactively
- Others: Affinity in Security and knowledge in Cryptography/Anonymization/Machine Learning is a plus

**Meet the team**

SAP Security Research’s objective is to understand new basic principles in research, analyze the business value for SAP, refine the method and adapt them for SAP. By building prototypes and blueprints for productization, we support the SAP development teams to consume the research results.

As the global research department for security, we are working on innovations around Applied Cryptography, Anonymization, and Machine Learning. We are a young and dynamic team of post-doctoral researchers and PhD Students striving for new ways to protect enterprise systems. As such, we can support you during your internship on academic as well as hands-on architectural questions.
