To further strengthen our team in Freiburg, Germany, we’re looking for an experienced solar cell scientist with knowledge in the field of machine learning based data analysis.
**Job description**
This job position is dedicated to identifying and deepening understanding of power losses of state‐of‐the‐art silicon solar cells. You will be responsible for establishing new routines for advanced data analysis of mass‐ produced solar cells. Your analysis should build the foundation for continuous improvement of mass production.
‐ You will develop a machine learning based approach to describe and optimize data of mass‐produced solar cells.
‐ You will become an expert for advanced data analysis.
‐ You will ideally complement your data analysis with a fundamental simulation‐based analysis of solar cell loss mechanisms.
‐ You will support the production team with trouble‐shooting and continuous improvement.
**Your profile**
‐ successfully completed degree in the field of natural sciences or engineering. A doctorate is a plus.
‐ You have extensive experience in machine learning (e.g. supervised learning, artificial neural networks,...).
‐ You have very good knowledge of how solar cells work and have a good understanding of semiconductor physics.
‐ Experience in simulation (e.g. Quokka3, Sentaurus TCAD) is an advantage.
‐ You are characterized by an independent and analytical way of working as well as the ability to work in a team.
‐ Confident handling of MS Office and in‐depth programming knowledge (e.g. Python).
‐ Very good command of English language.
