For our "Perovskite thin-film photovoltaics" team, we are looking for a student assistant with the opportunity to write a Master's thesis at the earliest possible date.

The aim of the master's thesis is to investigate how surface passivation and thus an increase in efficiency of perovskite solar cells can be achieved by modifying the photoabsorbing layer. The work is directly linked to the exciting research field of perovskite-perovskite tandem solar cells. We offer you the opportunity to contribute to innovative research aimed at improving the efficiency, stability and scalability of perovskite solar cells - a key technology in the sustainable energy world. You will work with a diverse, international team committed to pushing the boundaries of photovoltaic research.

**What you will do**
- Your tasks will include examining the deposited layers using optical methods such as photoluminescence spectroscopy, photoluminescence quantum yield and electron microscopy, which will provide you with information on the quality of the absorber layer and its passivation.
- You use optimized layers for the production and optimization of perovskite solar cells with low and high bandgaps.
- In addition, you will investigate the interaction of the perovskite layers with charge transport layers, which must be energetically adapted to the absorber for the solar cell to function optimally.
- You will test the performance of the solar cells produced using optoelectronic methods, e.g. current-voltage measurements and spectral sensitivity measurements.
- You interpret your measurement results in an understandable way, summarize them in a comprehensible manner and draw conclusions for your next experiments.
- In the course of your work, you will present your results in internal meetings and exchange scientific information with national and international project partners.

- You are studying physics, chemistry, materials science or a comparable field.
- You have a strong analytical mind and a talent for experimental work.
- You work in a structured and conscientious manner and are motivated to critically analyze your results.
- Ideally, you already have basic knowledge of solar cell physics.
- It is important for you to be part of your team, but you also plan and complete tasks independently and with high quality.
- You have a very good command of English.
